The Arizona Council of
EMPOWERING WOMEN TO RECOGNIZE THEIR WISDOM AND FIND THEIR VOICE.
"When the Grandmothers speak, the earth will heal."
Since 1994, the Arizona Council of Grandmothers has gathered together to provide sacred space for women to become empowered, whole, and healed so they can share their wisdom with the world, live their ideals, and help bring balance and peace to the world.
As the Grandmothers, we believe we have a responsibility to live our lives bringing healing, guidance, and wisdom to the world. Through the guidance of the Divine Feminine, the Grandmothers come together envisioning a new world based on peace, respect and honoring life.
It is our belief that compassion and nurturing are necessary for the transformation benefiting not only ourselves but all of humanity and the earth. With open hearts, we seek to heal the imbalance between the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine. Navigating the profound changes happening today, we invite women to gather, connect, share their wisdom, and unleash their power, creating lasting changes.
WHO ARE THE
By Kit Wilson
We call ourselves THE GRANDMOTHERS, but some of us are not biological Grandmothers.
We call ourselves a Council of Elder Women, but not all of us are old; and some of us are still working on being “Elders.”
We don’t have rules, but we do have some fiercely held traditions. We are not a legal entity of any sort: not an organization, non-profit or not-for-profit, although we are NOT for Profit.
There are no dues or membership cards.
So there’s nothing to JOIN.
You get to be a GRANDMOTHER by sitting in a Circle with some of us. Or coming to a GATHERING with a lot of us. And you begin to feel you Belong.
(We’re good at making you feel you belong.)
HONORING AND SHARING HEALING WISDOM
Our gatherings are typically three-to-five-day events bringing women together from all directions of the planet. Ceremonies include art, story, poetry, drama, music and dance uniting and honoring these women with joy and passion. Age is not a limitation in participation nor is anything else and all women are welcome!
Those attending often maintain that the gatherings awaken their passion and empower them to carry the spirit of change into the world. Grandmother Nancy Masland proclaims, “It helps rejuvenate my creative spirit so I can continue to do the work I’ve been called to do”. We invite you to visit our Gathering page to learn more.
